Set Up Stock Units

We look at creating a very basic stock unit with the functionality required to receive bookings through your ResBook calendar.

Note: If you are setting up a stock unit in the Classification, this will be clearly outlined in Blue.

New Stock Unit

To create a new stock unit, click on [New Stock Unit].

  1. Add the Name
  2. Add the Description (only leave this blank if you are creating this stock unit for a classification).
  3. Set Instant Confirmation to Yes
  4. Set the Status to Active
  5. Click Save

After saving, click on the name to add more details to the stock unit.


Select Type only if you need to assign the stock unit to the Classification. Click on the Classification drop down box and assign this stock unit to the Classification.


Select Beds and add the following information and Bed description at the bottom (see example screenshot):

Click [Save].


Add in the Number of bathrooms. If more than 1, Bathroom type changes to Bathroom description for you to fill in. Select 'Yes' if you have a Bath/Shower.

Note: Features, Photo and Copy have been deliberately skipped.


Unless you are adding Rates to an individual stock unit, then click here.

For Classification stock units, this step can be ignored.

Minimum Stays

Unless you have a system-wide minimum stay (ie. it applies to all your stock units), then this step can be ignored.

Otherwise, you can learn how to add Minimum Stays here.



Only for a Classification, once you have created your Stock unit and added the rate, use the 'Copy' button to clone the stock unit. Do this several times until you have reached the number of stock units required.

When making a copy, remember to rename your stock unit.

Final Test

Now that's completed, you may check your online calendar to see if your Stock unit set up is bookable online:

The xxxx will need to be replaced with the numbers in brackets next to your property name at the bottom left of the screen:

Check that you are able to select the dates on the calendar, and click on Book Now to take you to the next form. Also check that the rates/specials you have set up do add up!

If you have not already done so, set up your System settings and ensure that your policies and e-mail template details are entered in order to take bookings online.
